The Calendar Story

Because we have abandoned The Almighty’s method of reckoning time, for almost three thousand years, mankind has been on this undying quest to perfect what He has already perfected—the calendar. Before any official, secular or civil calendars were introduced and before the invention of mechanical and digital clocks, the citizens of ancient civilizations were able to systematically function in society (both socially and religiously) by faithfully observing the heavens to determine the days, months, years, religious festivals, and seasons with accuracy.

In 509 B.C, the Roman Republic (not yet an empire) was established Legend has it that the city-state was discovered in 753 B.C by two brothers named Remus and Romulus who were raised by a wolf. Around 713 B.C., Rome’s second king, Numa Pompilius, reformed the calendar, giving birth to February and January.

On January 1, 45 B.C., the Julian reform took effect. To compensate for the previous calendric confusion and difficulties, Julius Caesar made 46 B.C. an extremely long year by extending it to 445 days. Unfortunately, Caesar did not get the chance to fully witness the fruition of his reform. On Ides of March in 44 B.C. (March 15, 44 B.C.), he was assassinated by the hand of a few roguish members of the Roman Senate.

On October 23, A.D. 312, during the battle at Milvian Bridge, Constantine claimed that he experienced a vision in the sky. It was a flaming cross that revealed the phrase (in Greek), “in this sign conquer.” Many have questioned the authenticity to this claim for many reasons. In AD 313, the Edict of Milan was issued, which gave way to religious tolerance for all religions, favorably Christianity…the birthing of Catholicism.

The Catholic Church was concerned that Easter was falling further behind, due to the inaccurate calculations of the Julian calendar. It was at the Council of Trent in A.D. 1545-1563 that gave the Pope authority to institute a calendar reform as he saw fit. This gave Pope Gregory the authority to reform the calendar.

So, who was responsible for maintaining The Almighty’s reckoning of time? Was it Rome, Egypt, Greece, Babylon, or Israel? And, what do we know about Israel’s calendric structure and was it well documented in the same manner as the world’s largest superpower, Rome? Did Israel maintain its calendric identity from the times of antiquity, throughout all of its periods of captivity? Is the Hebrew calendar described in the Bible the same as the Jewish calendar observed today? What are the similarities between the calendars of ancient Israel and Rome? Is there any connection or influence between the two, and where does Egypt, Greece, and Babylon fit in all of this? And what does King James I of England have to do with much of today’s calendric confusion, and how can we correct it?

In our first documentary project, The Calendar Story: Understanding Heaven’s Time-Clock, you will discover the answers to all of these questions, as well as learn the intricacies of our Creator’s reckoning of time, and man’s quest to alter it.

This in-depth documentary will connect those missing pieces in Scripture that’s been mistranslated by many and are quite difficult to understand for most. Please join us on this amazing venture as we take a journey through the last 4,000 years. I guarantee that you will “learn the truth about what you think you already know!”
